Belmont Race Track has taken the arbitrary position that Equine Nasal Strips may not be used on horses even though its use is legal throughout the United States. In fact, the New York Racing Association (NYRA) rules do not exclude its use. These stripes are similar to non-prescription "Breath Right" stripes used by humans.
California Chrome, the first serious contender to have a chance to win the Triple Crown in 34 years, has legally used Equine Nasal Strips throughout its career. For Belmont Race track to disallow the use of equipment legal in all other tracks is an unfair action.
We petition the President to use his good offices to persuade Belmont Race Track to rescind this unfair policy.
