The federal government has no business regulating marijuana. It should be left to the states, which are increasingly passing marijuana regulation laws that automatically conflict with federal law. Congress has already defunded the DEA from enforcing the CSA in conflict with state laws. This is the next logical step. Congress should remove marijuana from the CSA entirely so that the states can continue to experiment with different forms of regulated legalization without fear of retaliation. So that patients in need can be reassured that they are not violating federal law.
