Ask Congress to propose an Amendment to the Constitution that effectively overturns the Citizens United v. FEC decision

Created by S.S. on October 09, 2011

The Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United v. FEC marked a dangerous departure from precedent and a further consolidation of power by corporations and unions over the election process at the expense of average Americans.

For a representative republic to work, elected officials must listen to the entire electorate and seek consensus. By allowing corporations and unions to donate as much money as they please, the Citizens United decision ensures that only the wealthiest will be listened to.

Under Article V of the Constitution, Congress may propose Amendments. We the undersigned insist that Congress use this power to overturn the holding in Citizens United and lay down guiding principles for campaign financing which levels the playing field, giving all American voters an equal voice.
