under certain acts of congress, businesses such as banks, insurance companies, labor unions, utilities, and agriculture are allowed exemptions of the antitrust laws that protect American citizens and small businesses from an unfair marketplace.
These acts give great power to industries to not only set market prices as they see fit, but also negotiate exorbitant contracts, stifle innovation, and influence the political process. And these are the exact industries that the citizens of the US lay the most trust in, some of these industries, companies of great size are generally the ones the American people are most dissatisfied with.
Please express to Congress our desire to review these laws, the lack of competition that they allow, and how they hurt the American people.
