In an open letter to FCC Chairman Wheeler dated January 21, 2015 senators Steve Daines, Roger Wicker, Roy Blunt, Deb Fischer, Ron Johnson, and Cory Gardner state that they "are aware of few applications that require download speeds of 25Mbps."
They have used their lack of awareness and lack of understanding that most households have more than one internet-connected device to justify reducing the standard of broadband to the lowest definition on record of "Any service above dial-up."
I believe these senators should present the last three months of bills from their ISPs showing which broadband speeds they have at home to the public. If they are content working at "anything above dial-up" I encourage them to do just that.
