Ask Facebook to add the option to use Italic type in messaging and status updates.

Emphasis by capitalization is demeaning and inhuman, and represents the continued degradation of our language and culture. The tells which used to signal emphatic speech are now understood to stand for shouting, and are thus no longer adequate. Italic type has stood the test of time as a peaceful way to communicate emphasis without anger, and should be available for those wishing to communicate to the broad extent made possible by our language rather than being constrained to affect-less normal type. We petition the Obama administration to leave a message to that effect for Mr. Zuckerberg, as he may find it humorous enough to comply.
