Ask FBI director James Comey to step down from office for technological ineptitude and contempt of liberty

Created by G.A. on October 14, 2014

In a recent interview on CBS "60 Minutes", FBI director James Comey expressed the view that the adoption of encryption standards on mobile devices such as the iPhone are protecting pedophiles from police. His understanding of technology does not appear to be very lucid, but he did state that he had the sense that we've "gone too far" by creating encryption that can not be easily forced open by the police upon seizure of a mobile device.

The undersigned believe that private citizens have the right to encrypt their devices in whatever manner they deem appropriate, and that it is unbecoming of an American holding such a high office to espouse a view which puts law enforcement in direct conflict with the rights of US citizens.

We ask that you request for James Comey to step down from office.
