Ferdinand Marcos was President of the Philippines from 1965 to 1985. He laid the foundation for the country the Philippines has become today. He built highways and bridges linking the Pacific Island nation. He reorganized the country's rice industry and made it self sufficient. He was forced out of office in 1985 and lived in exile in Hawaii. He passed away from health issues in 1989 and is currently interred in a glass coffin in Illocos Norte. For all Marcos has done for the future of the Philippines and the loyal relationship he had with the United States during his time in office it would be a great sign of respect to call for the government of the Philippines to grant this hero a proper burial he deserves.
