Ask gun wholesalers and retailers to temporarily halt sale of high-capacity weapons in wake of Newtown massacre.

Created by J.A. on December 21, 2012

Dear Mr. President,

We ask you to urge gun manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers for a temporary, voluntary halt to sales of military-style weapons and high capacity magazines.

While we affirm the rights of citizens to bear arms, we must recognize the sad tendency for unstable individuals to attempt 'copycat' assaults. Until this nation passes sane, rational gun safety laws, we ask--no insist--that you remind gun sellers of their responsibility to protect children from the weapons by which they derive profit.

No morally responsible company would seek financial gain from a product used to slaughter first-graders.
