Ask the Inaugural Ball committee to refrain from the use of public funds to celebrate the 2013 Presidential Inauguration

Created by J.M. on January 13, 2013

In deference to, and in solidarity with, the American taxpayer, and in the interest of introducing dignified restraint into the realm of US Presidential Inaugural celebrations, please make the grand gesture of urging the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies to refrain from using public funds for the 2013 Inaugural Ball. Such a grand gesture of austerity would find a precedent in the administrations of all US Presidents from Harding through Franklin D. Roosevelt, and could set a new precedent for future sitting Presidents to follow when winning reelection.
