Ask the Indonesian government to free Alexander Aan, who has been imprisoned for his beliefs.

Created by J.W. on August 27, 2012

Alexander Aan, of West Sumatra in Indonesia, was reported to the police by the Council of Ulema for stating an atheistic conviction on Facebook. He has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years for violating Indonesian law governing religious expression.

Since we believe that the open expression of moral and religious conviction is a basic human right, we ask that the United States government petition the Indonesian government for Alexander Aan's release.
