Ask the IRS to review the Church of Scientology's tax-exempt status.

Created by M.C. on January 24, 2016

Many former members and journalists who have studied the Church of Scientology say that it is a for profit organization and not actually a religion. Religions were given tax exemption in the US traditionally because it was believed they were of benefit to society. However, there is a large body of evidence suggesting the Church of Scientology is not a benefit to society and that it may, in fact, be a source of harm and suffering to those who join it and interact with it.
