We also demand that the administration vigorously support this return to 4.2%. The 2% increase is bad for the nation's economy and will make it harder on working middle class families (who President Obama repeatedly invokes as the people he is trying to protect) to make ends meet. For many, this increase will amount to the equivalent of a monthly mortgage payment or more. This is exactly the wrong time to be making things harder for people trying to keep their homes, meet their obligations, and provide for their families.
