Ask Nguyen Phu Trong to immediately release all prisoners of conscience in Vietnam, especially Ta Phong Tan, Vo Minh Tri

As the U.S celebrates the 239th Independence Day, we are proud to declare again: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness". As you welcome Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong to the White House on July 7, it would be very important to remind him, that on September 2, 1945, the people of Vietnam was promised those exact values by Ho Chi Minh. It is now time for the promise to be realized, to bring about a pacific convergence between values and interest of both people, both nations. President Obama, ask Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong to immediately release ALL prisoners of conscience, before we can embark on the next step of strategic trust.
