Maher uses divisive language which has stoked the embers of hatred against over 1 billion Muslims. We do not believe your administration shares or endorses his bigoted views against Muslims.
Maher has supported the view of Islam being the "mother load of bad ideas".
He supports Sam Harris's views that, "We are not at war with terrorism, we are at war with Islam," and who in his book called for a "nuclear first strike" against the Islamic world.
Maher told journalist Charlie Rose that all of Islam was complicit in the actions of ISIS.
This is the rhetoric ISIS wants us to believe and further helps their cause and hurts Americans.
It is beneath the dignity of the esteemed office you hold to endorse these bigoted views so we respectfully request you to abstain from appearing on his show.
