Ask Obama to urge Congressional bodies to re-vistit Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act

Created by M.C. on February 01, 2016

We request that they Obama administration urge our Congressional bodies to revisit the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act, in particular sec. 6 of the law which bans cigarette companies from advertising on all forms of electronic communication. We would like to see this section of the bill removed, and replaced with new regulations to make sure that cigarette companies can once again advertise their products, but do so in a safe and healthy way. Due to changing times and the language of this law, cigarette companies advertising abilities have been crippled. In our market-economy it is important to regulate products like cigarettes, but it is equally important not to infringe upon their rights to advertise their products.
