The Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest American citizens have been injuring our economy for at least a decade now. Instead of cutting necessary services and programs, President Obama should hold firm on allowing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% of Americans to expire. To allow these tax cuts to remain will cripple our economy even further. Cutting the already-minimal safety nets in this country will leave thousands financially devastated, thereby weakening our economy and compromising the standard of living for everyone.
