ask the Senate to give Lt. Brian Murphy the standing ovation he was sadly not given at the State of the Union

Created by J.R. on February 13, 2013

For those unfamiliar with Lt. Brian Murphy, he is a hero in every sense of the word. This man arrived at a Sikh Temple to see a madman, who’d already killed 6 people, set his site on him. This man was shot 12 times. With a dozen bullets in him Last night at the State of the Union address. The president spoke of him, and he sat in the crowd a reluctant hero.

He received not a single second of applause, among a speech of almost 100 instances of applause. We stood and applauded a centenarian who voted. However this mans heroism was glazed over and a quiet chamber dismissed him as quickly as he was introduced. It was an embarrassment to every person in that Chamber.

I am formally asking that he receive the standing ovation he deserved, accompanied by the apology our government.
