Presidents since 1785 have been issuing "Executive Orders" under the premiss that they are granted this power by the Constitution. There is in fact no clear provision in the U.S. Constitution giving this power to the President.
The current President and many before him would like us to believe that they were given this power by the Constitution in the "Faithful Execution" Clause which is found in Article II, Section 1, Clause 1, and furthered by the declaration "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" made in Article II, Section 3, Clause 5. This is open to interpretation.
The final word on this matter should be had by the authority in the interpretation of our Constitution, The Supreme Court of the United States of America.
We need to end this unconstitutional "tradition".
