ask Texas to secede from the union

Created by E.S. on March 23, 2013

Asking Texas to secede from the union has several immediate benefits.

1. It immediately clears the log jam in congress by removing a significant number of Republicans from the equation.
2. It removes the need to secure a large portion of the border with Mexico.
3. We won't have to worry about another Republican becoming president for a considerable while. Without the Texas votes there aren't enough votes in the electoral college to overcome good taste and decency.
4. It will prevent another Texan becoming president. Considering GWB and LBJ the two most disastrous Presidencies of the recent past were Texans this is not an insignificant benefit.
5. It prevents the Texans from distorting America's text books anymore.
6. No more chance the longhorns will screw up college football.
