The United States men's national soccer team (USMNT) recently unveiled the uniforms our men's national soccer team will be wearing during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. To the dismay of supporters across the country, the uniform is a severe departure from more traditional soccer uniform styles. The uniform is plain, bland, and unimaginative, the polar opposite of the spirit our sports traditions embody.
Should the US Men's Soccer team reach the finals of this year's World Cup, they will be representing our country in front of an estimated audience of 3 Billion people. It is the sincere hope of American soccer fans everywhere that, should this occur, our team will represent our country in the best possible light, wearing a uniform that accurately reflects our sports traditions and values.
