A "assault weapons" ban is a infringement on our civil rights per the 2nd amendment, it is not the answer

"Assault Weapons" are used very rarely in mass shootings or crime in general. For instance Columbine,Ft Hood,Virginia Tech,and the Austin bell tower shooting were committed without "assault weapons". Last year 3% of firearms murders were committed with a rifle of any kind. It is a infringement of our civil rights to ban semi auto rifles and high cap magazines, criminals will always have access to these types of weapons so why can't honest citizens? A ban is not the answer, yes there are steps to be takin to prevent shootings but a ban is not one of them neither is stricter laws look what happened at FT Hood a MILITARY BASE.What needs to be done is better firearms education, mental screenings, no gun free zones, background checks not taking away our firearms and right to defend ourselves
