Paragould, Arkansas Mayor Mike Gaskill and Police Chief Todd Stovall have announced on 12/14/12 that beginning in 2013, they would be arming their police with SWAT gear and AR-15s and having them patrol the city on foot looking for suspicious activity and requiring citizens to produce identification when confronted. This applies to anyone walking outside, even if they are just walking their dog. This is a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment, as well as human rights in general, and fully resembles martial law reminiscent of Nazi Germany and other police-state regimes.
