Assist Americans struggling with infertility, not just those wanting to prevent pregnancy (Obamacare)

Created by B.K. on January 23, 2013

At the center of health care reform debate is the issue of birth control, and hearing so many arguing for funding to prevent pregnancy is very painful to those Americans struggling with infertility.

While birth prevention or termination is being covered by government funds, infertility treatments are typically paid 100% out of the patient's pocket, as most insurance companies will not cover these procedures.

The cost of adoption is also out of reach for many couples, domestic and international, and the few grants available do little to cover the need. The cost of the adoption process must be addressed.

We petition the White House to place as much emphasis on infertility treatment and adoption assistance as they do the prevention of pregnancy or the termination of pregnancies.
