I believe the kurds deserve their own state. There are approximately 30 million kurds in the world. They are a disenfranchised ethnic group from the middle east who were deprived of a state in the aftermath of world war 1.
The reasons I believe we should use are diplomats to help create a kurdish state are:
*They are pro American
*They need a state to protect themselves, this was proved in the Al-Anfal Campaign
*They are well organized (however everybody has internal divisions)
*They can serve as an effective buffer between our ally Turkey and the sectarian violence there
*They are rather tolerant
*They are rather liberal (see cnn Vice)
*They have natural resources which can benefit us immensely
*We have resources which can benefit them immensely
*They are pro israel
