How Long Is Too Long?? When an individual commits a crime they should be punished, but at what point is the punishment too punitive? Someone that steals a sample bottle of men's cologne will have that on their record for 15 years in the State of NC. This needs to change because we, the people need to help in getting our fellow citizens off of the streets and off of government assistance. We can not do this if they are unable to get employment because they have a criminal record. Therefore, let's petition to change the law to 5 years for misdemeanors!!! Thank you.
