Many EMT's and Paramedics are paid sub-par wages in this country. Believe it or not, in many cases the dedicated professionals who are dispatched to same lives on ambulances are paid just above minimum wage. By increasing Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements to ambulance services, and making these reimbursements more comparable with the costs of doing business, EMT's and Paramedics could be paid more.
