Dr. Shakil Afridi is a Pakistani physician who risked his own life and helped the US to locate then-most wanted terrorist Osama Bin Laden. Instead of expressing our gratitude by removing Dr. Afridi from Pakistan and offering him asylum for his services, the US left him behind. Subsequently, Dr. Afridi was captured by the Pakistani government, tried and sentenced to prison for an alleged connection to the militant group Lashkar-e-Islam. Dr. Afridi's incarceration is not a coincidence; it is retaliation for his services rendered to the US. We ask that the US stops any and all support to Pakistan, whether financial or other until his release. In addition, we ask that the US secures a safe transport of Dr. Afridi the US at no expense to him, and offers him and his closest relatives' asylum.
