I would like to see the Obama Administration advocate and assist in the creation of a international soccer tournament(s) that is not associated with FIFA and is not going to be played in Russia or Qatar.
I would like these tournaments removed from these countries for a number of reasons.
Russia: Aggression in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, Russia's supply of military hardware in the tragic destruction of a commercial jetliner, the violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and international law, and the harassment of various groups within its own country.
Qatar: The dangerous weather conditions for soccer and the human right's violations against immigrant workers.
Both of these host nations received World Cups under clouds of bribery. An int'l soccer tournament would also help the US economy.
