Assist the senior, long-term unemployed by temporarily reducing the age of retirement.

Created by D.A. on January 27, 2014

Consider the plight of senior, long-term unemployed Americans. Over 50, unemployed for four years of more, they have no hope of ever working again. They have nothing to look forward to other than eventual homelessness and destitution. By temporarily lowering the age of retirement until the economy fully recovers, these American will be able to live out their lives with some measure of dignity.

Details:
1.) The employed would not have the option of early retirement.

2.) Those under 55 would not have the option of early retirement.

3.) American citizens over 55 who have been involuntarily unemployed for 4 or more years would have the option to retire early.

4.) The conditions for retirement under Social Security would otherwise remain unchanged.
