Dear Mr. President,
It is a recognized fact that Taiwan is an ally which share and supports American values, and the interests of the United States of America.
Recalling the Taiwan Relations Act passed by Congress in 1979, the Obama Administration is obligated respond to the recent killing of an unarmed Taiwanese fisherman by Filipino Coast Guards, which over 51 shots were recovered from the Taiwanese vessel. This act of brutality warrants the response of the American government as it is seen to be a threat to American interests.
The cost of losing Taiwan as an ally to the US and the security of Asia-Pacific is crippling. We, the people, implore the Obama administration to provide assistance to Taiwan and facilitate negotiations between Taiwan and Philippines to ease tensions.
