assume a leadership role on the international stage to address the challenge of climate change once and for all

Created by D.K. on December 15, 2012

Climate change was not mentioned in any of this year's presidential debates for the first time since 1984, yet it is one of the most vexing challenges in human history. The United States must take decisive action to stake out a leadership role - both to create jobs at home in clean energy and the knowledge economy and to demonstrate that American ingenuity and courage can once again bring the world out of darkness. We rallied to end WWII, sent a man to the Moon, and time and again have found the political and national will to sacrifice when we know what is at stake. This petition calls on the Obama administration to make this a bipartisan issue of honor, courage, and progress - quintessential American values.
