I am writing concerning nuclear safety and security and to ask what actions can be taken to prevent nuclear and radiation accidents from happening in the United States or to limit their consequences. This includes all nuclear facilities, the transportation of nuclear materials, and the use and storage of nuclear materials for medical, power, industry, and military uses.
In 2011, we saw how the tsunami in Japan caused the meltdown of 3 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants and how it had a major effect on our environment.
My primary question is what steps are being taken in America to ensure that these types of disasters that happened in Japan do not happen in our country?
