According to Tax Bulletin ST-835 (http://www.tax.ny.gov/pubs_and_bulls/tg_bulletins/st/sandwiches.htm) hot dogs are considered sandwiches by the State of New York.
Everyone knows that hot dogs are NOT sandwiches. This is a travesty and a dangerous slippery slope. If we don't fix this, ANYTHING can be classified as a sandwich.
Is pizza just an elaborate open-faced sandwich? Are quesadillas pressed sandwiches? What about bread-bowl soup? Cheese and crackers? Ice-cream sandwiches? Oreo cookies? Corn dogs?
Eventually this won't be restricted to foodstuffs. Any hunk of meat surrounded by something is in danger. What about when I'm wearing earmuffs? Is my face now a sandwich?
I call on the President to announce to the world that America does not consider hot dogs (or my face) a sandwich.
