Our World is surrounded by a very real threat from Asteroids the size of basketballs to football fields and even large then that. I believe that a civilization that can make it to the moon and mars can make a space station capable of deflecting threatening NEO's ( Near Earth Objects ) or destroy them in a safe manner. Whether that be by destroying them with warheads or harvesting them for raw materials.
I believe we should secure founding and resources for such a system to protect the human race from any future events. This needs to be taken seriously and i think we need to put more resources into this. This would open up more jobs for the American People and will help with our space exploration.
I believe this should be done for a time period of 2020
