Athletes outed at the 2016 Summer Olympics should be offered political asylum.

The reporter Nico Hines while working at the 2016 Summer Olympics published a story through the news site the DailyBeast.com exposing athletes who are homosexuals. He did this by exploiting a weakness in social media, these athletes made no wish for their sexualities to be publicized. There are roughly 77 countries where being homosexual is against the law to one extent or another. It is entirely possible that Nico Hines has placed the lives of these athletes and their families in danger for a profit. The United States has a moral obligation to offer these athletes asylum.
