Congress has proven, time and time again, they are not up to the challenge of running this country. Their imminent failure to cut the deficit is merely more evidence to illustrate what the entire country already realizes.
That our government, as it exists today, no longer serves the people it supposedly represents. Politicians merely make decisions based on what will either further their political career, or pad their own ( already outrageous ) fortunes.
We have no means of removing them, as it requires Congress to approve the measure to begin with. They will never vote in Term Limits for themselves.
Term Limits would help ensure new ideas every few years. It would go a long way in putting this country back on track as Congress, as it exists today, is a total failure.
