The big Telco companies such as AT&T, Verizon and others have been receiving hundreds of millions of dollars earmarked for expanding their networks (broadband included) to under-served cities and towns across America. They have continued to receive these funds automatically with absolutely no accountability or one single audit of where the money is going since its inception in 2008. That's hundreds of millions of dollars unaccounted for that they have been allowed to use however they want outside of the intended purpose. They continue to stifle competition and offer rural areas little options other than overpriced services that are not in line with the speed and performance that is shared by most other areas of the country. This is an absolute abuse of taxpayer funds and basic fraud.
