The gold holdings of the US Treasury have not been audited since 1954. Many people do not believe the gold is at Fort Knox and other depositories. Many believe we don't have the gold that we claim to have. Countries want to repatriate their gold that is supposed to be stored in New York. They are told it will be 7 years before they get their gold back. That is preposterous. We are entitled to know how much gold we have and/or what our government has done with it.
How can an important asset be kept in secret with the public being told to " move along, nothing to see here" as if we are naive children?
No audit being conducted in over 50 years breeds mistrust which is indeed probably why the facts are kept away from the American people. We are over $ 17 trillion dollars in debt( gold?
