The US Treasury claims to hold around 260 million ounces of gold at Denver, Fort Knox, West Point and at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The last full audit was in 1953. The gold must be audited for quality and true ownership. Results of the audit shall be released to the public without redaction. The audit shall be conducted by professional auditors with no connection to the Mint, US Treasury, GAO, Inspector General and Federal Reserve system.
