The premise is that a person that has spent over a decade in Washing D.C. can not be in touch with what’s going on in the lives of the average citizen, or the average citizen’s desires on a given topic. Not to mention, the potential for corruption in the form of “Pork-Belly” projects and other self serving legislation is amazing. The fact that career politicians spent about 30% of their time running for re-election means that they are not doing their job 30% of the time. This idea has been proposed several times over the years. However, why would the career politicians vote to put themselves out-of-office? TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT!
