The army has recently amended their regulation for shoulder sleeve indicator patches for Marines who served in the operation Iraqi freedom invasion of 2003. It's discriminatory against all other branches of service and marines who have deployed to combat zones other than OIF in 2003. Although there are other pending issues of greater concern, this regulation offends service members serving with the army in all capacities. Why is this even an issue. A designated SSI should be authorized for each branch of service such as the 1st Marine Division patch for Marines. Please help bring equality to the ranks and allow these veterans to be recognized for their service while continuing to serve. Thank you.
