The United People for African Congress and allied partners respectfully request that President Barack Obama directs the Department of Homeland Security to renew Temporary Protected Status for Liberian, Guinean and Sierra Leonean beneficiaries in the United States. While the 2014 Ebola crisis no longer poses a public health risk in the respective countries, their previously weak public healthcare infrastructures were decimated by the outbreak including the loss of hundreds of health care workers.
TPS recipients from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea are now legally employed and have become contributing members of their households in America and in their countries of origin. We are asking President Obama to appreciate the dire circumstances that still exist in these countries.
