Year-to-date, the City of Chicago has experienced 226 homicides (As of August 5, 2014).
The Mayor of Chicago, the Chicago Police Superintendent, and Community leaders have called for community residents to help with combating the violence plaguing a small numbers of communities in Chicago.
Utilizing the United States Military is a last resort to assist local and Federal Law Enforcement with ridding street gangs, murders, and other criminals terrorizing this beautiful city.
With this petition, we ask President Obama to take the appropriate, required steps to allow for the deployment of United States Military personal to assist with controlling the violence, largely due to the code of silence within these select Chicago communities.
