In light of the damage caused by the Citizens United ruling by SCOTUS, the IRS didn't make a mistake by investigating Tea Party groups for compliance with limits on the political and electioneering activities. Their mistake was not in investigating ALL 501(c)(4) groups that engage in significant election-related activities across the board. The democratic voice of American citizens should not be silenced by moneyed interests. As Stephen Colbert demonstrated, it is too easy for 501(c)(4) non-profits to be used to corrupt elections. The IRS should be authorized--and encouraged--to keep 501(c)(4)'s honest and out of electioneering. Please help the American people keep their voice and their country.
