In April, Boko Haram, an extremist group in Nigeria with links to al Qaeda, attacked a school in Nigeria and abducted 276 girls.
The leader of Boko Haram states in a video that his intention is to sell the abducted girls. This is a heinous violation of human rights norms and it demands immediate attention.
The United States is well equipped to carry out a limited mission to return these girls to their families and decimate Boko Haram. As a government, we would need to:
-Work closely with the Nigerian government to intervene
-Organize a small, effective strike force
-Return the girls to their families and bring Boko Haram to justice
We as Americans can perform a small miracle in this instance. We call on U.S. elected officials to pull together and lead by example for a just cause.
