Social Security constantly deny Veterans that are Permanently Disabled the benefits they have earned. If a Veteran is rated Total & Permanently Disabled from the VA, then the SSA should automatically award that Veteran his or her benefits & SSI. Page 4 of the Social Security Disability Benefits clearly states: Social Security pays benefits to people who cannot work because they have a medical condition that is expected to last at least one year or result in death. Federal law requires this very strict definition of disability. Veterans have sacrificed their lives to serve and protect the US and if they are Permanently Disabled they have earned their Social Security disability. Some people receive Social Security while they are working full time, while others that can not work get denied.
