Automatically grant refugee status to individuals persecuted for their sexual orientation in Uganda and Nigeria

Created by K.H. on February 25, 2014

The LGBT community is under attack by harsh anti-gay laws recently enacted in Uganda and Nigeria. The Obama Administration needs to signal strong opposition to these laws by automatically granting Ugandan and Nigerian LGBT nationals refugee status in the United States. The LGBT community in Uganda and Nigeria is suffering persecution in part because of the vast social and political progress we have made in the United States in recent years. Influenced by U.S. based conservative organizations, these laws fuel intolerance and hatred targeting LGBT people in the most vulnerable parts of the world. Ours is a global fight. Please sign!
