After only nearly 23 years since the end of the Soviet Union and the Cold War, tensions are once again rising between the U.S. and Russian governments. As Putin makes more threats towards the U.S. and its NATO allies, the U.S. has been following suite with threats of its own towards Russia. This could very well lead to war.
Both sides have large nuclear stockpiles (Russia w/ an 8000 total inventory and the U.S. w/ a 7,315 total, http://fas.org/issues/nuclear-weapons/status-world-nuclear-forces/) that can kill hundreds of millions of people in both the U.S. and Russia in seconds. No dispute is worth the obliteration of entire populations.
It is imperative that President Obama and the U.S. government avoid conflict and war and aim to achieve peaceful resolution with Russia at all costs!
