Avoid cutting Military pay and benefits in an attempt to save money. Cut Congress' pay and benefits instead

Created by P.G. on December 23, 2013

In today's attempt to cut government spending and save money, Congress and top military personnel are looking at not only cutting the Defense Budget, but in particular cutting the pay and benefits of our brave soldiers in the United States Armed Forces.

Instead of cutting the Military's pay and benefits, the federal government should look at cutting the pay and benefits of Congress. These people don't do anything near life-threatening as the our soldiers do everyday, especially those deployed on combat zones. Our soldiers earned every single cent of their pay, and deserve more than what they are already receiving.

Members of Congress receive an overly-generous salary and benefits greatly exceeding the benefits of our soldiers.

In short, cut Congress' pay in this attempt to save money.
